
Denis McNamara

Dr. Denis McNamara is one of the premier thought leaders in the renewal of Catholic Church Architecture in America. He has a unique ability to synthesize church architecture, liturgy and theology to make it accessible to all. Denis is associate director and faculty member at the Liturgical Institute of the University of Saint Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary.
He holds a BA in the History of Art from Yale University and a Ph.D in Architectural History from the University of Virginia, where he concentrated his research on the study of ecclesiastical architecture in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Dr. McNamara is a speaker and author of numerous articles and books including, Catholic Church Architecture and the Spirit of the Liturgy. In addition Denis is featured in the popular podcast, “The Liturgy guys”.
